The inauguration of the Nishadraj Scholarship Scheme / Yojana has been approved in the meeting of the Executive Committee of MIP Fisheries Federation. This scheme is for the children of fishermen who want to get further education. Under this scheme, the Madhya Pradesh government will provide 20,000 scholarships for all girls / boys of the fishermen community for higher education

The most important feature of this scholarship scheme is that students can avail of this scholarship with other scholarship schemes. Accordingly, this scheme will promote technical education and thus will lead the development of fishermen community. The main focus of this scheme is to reduce the drop-out rate in the schools and provide quality education.

Nishadraj Scholarship Scheme (NSS)

* This scheme is for the welfare of the fishermen and therefore the NSS is applicable only to fishermen’s children.

* Under this scheme, students of all girls / boys will get financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 per year till the secondary level.

* A part from this, all graduate students will be given Rs 20,000 per year for financial assistance to continue their studies in technical subjects.

* The primary purpose of the Nishadaraj Scholarship Scheme is to promote higher education and attract the students of the fishermen community.

* All such students can get financial assistance from other schemes with this scholarship as there is no such restriction.

MP. In the meeting of Fisheries Executive Committee, some other welfare decisions were taken. This includes the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme for the workers in the Fisheries Union.

12% contribution, including 24% of the employees, is deducted from the wages of workers working in the union and 12% of the employer / union contribution will be credited to the Employee Provident Fund Account.
